The First Sunday of Advent!!

The kids have been really excited to put up the Christmas tree. We also put some lights outside and they enjoyed "helping" us decorate! I was pretty pumped to use our advent candles and found a devotional for us to do tonight. You can use the link below if you'd like a free advent devotional download for children. Tonight we read about Jesus being the light of the world and that Christmas lights represent this. A few minutes later I asked the kids- "So why do we put up Christmas lights?" Caleb answered-"For Santa Claus to see." We have some work to do...

Here is Chloe's little "tree" that she decorated. She is really proud:) She said that she doesn't mind if the gifts under it are big...hmmm...

The Magic Wand That Doesn't Work

Here are some pictures from today. I guess Chloe decided that her magic wand that doesn't work is still good enough to play with!!

A Magic Wand

My conversation with Chloe earlier today:

Chloe: Mommy, I want a magic wand for Christmas.
Me: Honey, you already have a princess wand in our dress up bin.
Chloe: No, Mommy I want a REAL wand...one that REALLY works!
Me: Oh, well, those don't really exist. Magic is just for fun, just with your imagination...what would you do if you had a magic wand that really did work??
Chloe: I'd turn you into a kangaroo and put you outside.

I'm pretty thankful that magic wands aren't actually magic...

2 Different Prayers

Today at lunch Chloe wanted to say the prayer...it went like this...

"Dear God,
Thank you for the beautiful trees. Thank you for sending Jesus to die on the cross for us. Amen"

Then Caleb wanted to pray...it went like this...

"Dear God,
Don't bother me. Amen"

Wow...

Cameron is 3 months!

Cameron just turned 3 months! He doesn't sleep a lot but he is REALLY content for the most part! He smiles a lot and really enjoys his swing.
