Happy Easter!

Our kiddos are coming down from their Easter sugar high as expected today...completely exhausted and CRANKY!!! I can't believe the amount of candy that we brought home this weekend!! Here are some pictures of our Easter fun. It's difficult to teach kids the REAL meaning of Easter when they're surrounded by Easter bunnies (see below), dyed eggs (also below), and candy. Those things are fun and I don't want to completely skip them, but I don't want them to become the focus. This year though I felt like I didn't even have to try very hard. For the past few weeks or so Chloe has been somewhat obsessed with the story of Jesus' death and resurrection in her Beginner Bible...isn't that amazing?? The story is so awesome and so powerful that no preaching is even necessary...she just wants to hear the story over and over again. Ok, I'll let you get to the pictures...

Caleb does not waste time looking at a camera when he is hunting for eggs. One word to describe Caleb lately...intense.

Chloe was able to distinguish which eggs had her name on them...yeah!

She got a little help searching...

Our newest family portrait...don't the men in ties look stunning?? And I love how Chloe is posing:)

Daddy took the kiddos to the city wide Easter Egg Hunt and even had a chance to get a few pictures...he's awesome!!!

I was surprised to see that Chloe had sat on the Easter Bunny!!

We dyed eggs without shirts...makes for better pictures...and fewer stains!

Chloe was so proud of her eggs!

A Fun Easter Treat

I heard about a fun Easter idea that I just had to share. A patient of mine gave me two of these "nests" for my kiddos. They are so cute! It's a nest (pretzel sticks) complete with eggs (small jelly beans) and a chick (a peep) on top. It's all held together by white almond bark. My kids thought they were super yummy!!!

Our Trip to Florida!

Kyle and I went to Florida to celebrate our 8 year anniversary last week. I can't believe we've been married that long!! Every trip we take we make a list of our most memorable moments. It's really fun to look back on the lists that we've made. Here is the shortened version of our "80 Most Memorable Moments on St Pete Beach"...

#23~Delicious Mahi Mahi at Bubba Gumps

#76~The Candy Kitchen--candy cigarettes (didn't know they still made those things) and the biggest jawbreakers we'd ever seen!! The ice cream was delicious too!!

#74~We both scored a hole in one...on the same hole!!!! We both got 2 hole in ones!!!

#66~Seeing the live alligators at the mini-golf course.

#55 & 56~Paddleboating at our resort--First we ticked off this swan. Then we got stuck sideways in a narrow channel and was rescued by a young foreign kid.

#40~The atmosphere at Paddy O'Sullivans (complete with loud, hard Scottish rock music). Kyle liked his burger though:)

#19~Lying on the beach in our cabana--LOVED IT!!! Note Kyle's burnt feet!!

#29~Meeting up with good friends Brent and Beth and eating by the water at Bubba Gumps.

#39~Relaxing and reading "1000 Gifts" on the beach.

Just to give you an idea of how quirky this "memorable moments list" really is, here are a few that I don't have pics to go along with...

#10~ 2 for 1 Raisin Bran
#13~ Saying goodbye to our 2 little chubby cheeked kiddos and Chloe asking "Where's the plane?" when mom and dad picked them up at our house.
#15~Wondering what really goes on at the "Adult Only Pools" at our resort
#23~Cheetos with the Gaulkes on the beach
#31~Realizing that SPF 30 was NOT enough!
#49~Pizza Hut Express on the beach with grape gatorade-yummy!
#50~Seeing people catch fish on the pier
#54~Hanging out at the "Adult Only Pool"
#63~ Eating approximately 10 Oreos on the beach

Garage Sale Season Has Begun

Chloe and Caleb are both "under the weather" today so Chloe wasn't able to attend dance class this morning. These are pictures from last week's class with Chloe wearing her new princess dress that she got for her birthday.

Even though the kids are coughing a lot, I knew we still really needed to go to Walmart. Chloe kept telling me that she was "too sick" to go. I also told her that there was a garage sale that we could go to if we got done in Walmart in time. We made it to the garage sale and I realized that taking the kids to garage sales by myself this year might be even harder than last year. Both of my kiddos are going to be smarter than me in no time. Chloe was picking out multiple toys and saying "But Mom, this is only one dollar!" Or, "But Mom, this is only three dollars!" She is apparently very good at reading garage sale pricing. She also seems to know that a dollar is not very much and therefore means we should buy all toy items priced $1. Wow, I didn't see this coming...
