Chloe's News

In the past couple of weeks Chloe has decided
that she is a big girl and wants to eat only
with a spoon or a fork. No more of this eating
with her fingers! She is doing pretty well
although yogurt is still messy!!

Chloe LOVES reading Mommy's Wonder

Time magazine!!

Kyle has "taught" Chloe to scratch his back!!

Iowa Football

Kyle and I were able to go with my dad to the IA vs Northwestern game this past Saturday. Although the Hawkeyes lost, we had a really fun day. Thanks Dad for taking us! Thanks Mom for watching Chloe!!

Fine Dining & Ouchies

What a title, huh?!? The fine dining and the ouchies didn't occur at the same time although they certainly could have!! We took my dad to the Linden House in Lynnville for his birthday this past weekend. Funny, I don't have any pics of him...but the picture of my mom with Chloe is hilarious (my mom might kill me for posting it on the internet!!). We found out that Chloe doesn't really like fine dining...AT ALL!! I would recommend the Linden House cuz the food and the atmosphere were great, but maybe avoid taking your toddler there!!

Chloe's face and knees have had encounters with the cement this week. We were supposed to have pictures today but those have been postponed until she looks a little less beat up!! She loves pointing to her "ouchies" and showing them off:)

Prayer Request

Hi All!
I just wanted to send out a prayer request for all of the Punt blog readers to be in prayer for my Grandma. This past Saturday she fell in a hole while trying to pick some apples at my Uncle's house and broke her ankle in 3 places. She laid there for quite awhille before anyone found her (my Uncle wasn't home) and even tried to push her ankle back into place so that she could walk (OUCH!!). Early Sunday morning she had surgery at Mercy and she is still currently at Mercy. The surgery went well but it's going to be difficult for her to get around for awhille which will be VERY hard for my active Grandma (she can keep up with Chloe--need I say more?!?). They are talking about sending her home from the hospital today so please pray for a quick recovery and patience and adjustment for my Grandma and Grandpa.
Thanks so much for reading:) Hugs to all of you!!

Pregnancy Update

I've had a few people ask me for a pregnancy update...how sweet of you!! I'm currently at 26 weeks and I have the wonderful glucose tolerance test this week to check for diabetes. I've been feeling great and it's going by really fast!! Ultrasound did say that we're having a little boy so I've been hitting a lot of garage sales and getting some boy clothes since we have none:) I still haven't completely decided if I'm going to do a repeat C-section or try a vaginal birth (which I would need to go to Des Moines for and the risks are higher) so please pray for guidance in this area and for a safe delivery for this little guy!! Here is a picture of Chloe and I looking through the baby name book. She has been pointing at my belly and saying "baby" which is exciting but she also does that to my mom's stomach (which is not big AT ALL!). She's not quite understanding it all yet:)

Birthdays

We celebrated my Dad's birthday this past Sunday and Chloe turned 1 1/2 yesterday. Here are a few pictures. As I tried to take pictures of Chloe yesterday she was so busy running all over the deck that it was hard to get any good pics...I guess that's probably pretty classic for this age!! She's getting SO fast though! Last week she literally had 4 women chasing after her at Merle Hay Mall...we were all WORN OUT by the end of that shopping excursion!!

Fun around the house

We have had a lot of fun around the house lately. Here are some fun pictures that we have taken. I was able to make a slide show with the help of my "seasoned veteran blogger" friend Rochelle...thanks again Rochelle! As you can see Chloe loves sitting and rocking in her own chair on the front porch and runs circles around Kyle's car in the driveway. She also has started really liking "playing" the piano which makes me so proud of my budding musician! Wearing mommy and daddy's shoes has also become a favorite pastime although right after those cute pictures were taken she lost her balance and took a tumble of course! We had a lot of fun at Chloe's friend Jarrett's 1st birthday party last weekend. There were plenty of balls to play with and flowers to smell. One of the other pictures in this slideshow is of her feeding syrup to her puppy...good thing the lid was on tight!!

Fantasy Football Party

We hosted the first ever Punt Fantasy Football Draft at our house this labor day. With 12 adults and 5 children (under 18 months) it was quite a crazy night! The league should be fun as we have many novices along with some NFL experts. In the top picture you can see Malik helping his Dad write down the picks in his Favre jersey (still can't believe Kyle let them in our house wearing Packer apparel!!) and in the bottom picture Kyle is entering all the team picks into his computer long after all the guests had left and all the kiddos were sound asleep in their beds:)

Emptying the Toybox

Chloe has always loved emptying her toybox but this labor day weekend she decided to empty it entirely on Grandpa's lap. Now if we could only get her to put them all back IN the toybox!
